Water Safety Environment Lifesaving
A progressive programme combining environmetal learning with practical water safety and lifesaving. Young people work through the RLSS UK Rookie Lifeguard syllabus, developing practical skills and working towards recognised awards while learning to understand, respect and care for their local waterways.
Designed to support curriculum-linked learning, including relevant Key Stage 3 curriculum and RSHE outcomes.

A progressive pathway for young people who want to take their lifesaving skills further.
Building from Rookie Lifeguard and practical water-safety skills, Participants can continue developing rescue techniques, swimming ability, fitness, teamwork and leadership with opportunities to pregress into lifesaving sport and further recognised lifesaving awards including part of the D of E award scheme.

Safe Progression
The RLSS UK Pool to Pond Award helps swimmers develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to make the transition from swimming pools to open water.
Beginning in the controlled environment of the pool, participants build practical open-water awareness before progressing towards safe and confident participation in real outdoor environments.
Open Water Swimming
Guided Swims
Coaching
Confidence
Guided open water swimming and coaching for individuals and groups across Northumberlands coastal, river and lake environments.
From first experiences beyond the pool to experienced swimmers looking to develop their performance, sessions build confidence, technique and a better understanding of different open-water conditions.
Coaching includes, breathing, sighting, drafting, navigation, pacing, stroke mechanics and development, anxiety management and adapting to changing conditions.
Community Lifesaving

Save a Life
Practical lifesaving and first aid education for families, community groups and organisations.
Through the RLSS UK Save a Life Series, participants can learn essential emergency skills including CPR,chocking response, drowning response, cold water shock response and AED awareness, with workshops for babies, children and adults.
Furtherfirst aid training can also provide progression for those wanting to develop their emergency response skills.
Professional Lifeguard Training

Qualifications
Professional RLSS UK LIFEGUARD training for those looking to develop the knowledge, fitness, judgement and rescue skills required to operate safely in a beach or aquatic environment.
RLSS UK National Vocational Beach Lifeguard Qualification (NVBLQ) training provides a pathway towards a nationally recognised vocational qualification and employment as a beach lifeguard.
Pathways also include the Open Water Lifeguard (OWL) qualification for appropriate still, non-tidal open-water environments and beach lifeguard training fr those progressing towards professional coastal lifeguarding.
